Take
the mats out of the boxes, lay them out and press the teeth together. They
will not separate under normal and even very aggressive use.
Typically
no adhesive or other steps are needed for this product. If you are putting
this in the middle of a room, the product may shift a little if you are doing
aggressive actions on them. Much like would happen with any rug or mat
freely located in a room. Cut to fit as needed with a razor knife.
PREMIUM 3/8" MULTI-USE
Most
installation simply require laying the product down and connecting the sides
like a very simple puzzle.
Most people also use the
textured side up, but the back can be used if desired.
The border pieces snap on
just like the main tiles. The mats can also be cut to fit easily with a
razor knife or even sharp scissors.
In
some cases we recommend duct tape on the back of the seams to provide additional
rigidity to the product, for example in some martial arts application where people
are being very aggressive on the mats. Sometimes an adhesive is recommended
like GOOP or Liquid Nails to affix tiles to the ground when more permanence and
low shift are required.
Gluing is required if your
application entails a great deal of aggressive activity,
a large area, or if you are installing in a wall-to-wall location.
Recommended Gluing Technique:
The best installation is to get buckets
of adhesive, like Liquid Nails, and trowel it on like the normal setting of
tiles. Do not glue the teeth area in case you need to pull up a tile
later.
Cut to fit as needed with a razor knife.
Secondary Gluing method:
1. Glue a large square on the
back, do not glue the teeth
2. Glue an X from corner to corner,
ensure the bead of glue is no less than 1/4" - 3/8"
3. Install mat on floor and allow adhesive to dry 24 hours before using
Using this method allows for
full coverage, stability, and ease of replacement if necessary
Our
multi-purpose flooring product is very durable and cost effective. It usually
meets the requirements of at least 95% of what most people are looking for in
a floor covering for exercise, safety, floor protection, etc. This is a
very industrious product but not industrial. The industrial version of
this product costs about 5-10 times.
